MPPI ANTI-CANCER COUNCIL BIGGEST MORNING TEA 13/5/13

Wow what a turnout 121 members and visitors, plus the gentlemen from Eview Real Estate, Arthur, Jarrod and Derek who very kindly donated their time to conduct our Shoe Box Auction.  This was done in a very professional manner and thanks to the boys’ charm and experience, the ladies could not resist putting their bids out there. 

The Shoe Box Auction brought $2000 for the Cancer Council, and Eview donated a 4 hours landscaping voucher which was auctioned.   Added to all the contributions from the local trade for our door prizes , our very generous members supplied four major  raffle prizes, a Skylight donated by  Steve and Jo Clark of Solatube, a beautiful painting donated by Andrew Page-Robertson, a coffee machine donated by Marg & Den Roberts and a gorgeous quilt made by some members.   We were also treated to a most magnificent morning tea. The sale of crafts made by members, plants and jars of homegrown olives brought our total up to around $3,600.00.  A fantastic effort for a wonderful cause.

Just to add to the fun and pleasures of the day we had a “Show n Tell” of some of the completed quilts from the Noriko Endo Workshop.  A delightful display.

Well done MPPI – it is truly a privilege for me as President to work with such wonderful and giving group of ladies. 

We wish all those organizing a “Biggest Morning Tea” for the Cancer Council, as much success as we’ve had.
