Snags, Santas and Spending-Up Big

This week our meeting was a huge event as we celebrated Christmas in July with a sausage-sizzle provided by the team from Mornington Peninsula Youth Enterprises. Following a very informative talk by Bob Couchman about the function and activities of MPYE we were treated to snags and onions in bread with all profits going to this great organisation who are on hand every month to set up for our meetings.

It was also our Mini Market Day and we welcomed Maureen Millar from Palm Beach Quilting, Jenny from Sewing Bee Cafe, Lloyd Walton with his wood-turned pieces and our own Lyn Wright with her wares from Snugglelyn. It was impossible to resist the temptation to purchase yet more gorgeous fabrics and threads to add to our stashes; we just never seem to have enough! The displays set up by the traders looked very enticing and we thank them for the effort they made to 'bring their shops' to us.

The atmosphere was certainly festive as our members decorated their tables with Christmas baubles and there was a busy hum as friends came together to sit, sew and chat to make it an enjoyable day.
